Teaching methods are reflective of one 's philosophy, particularly one's view of man. Depending on whether you view man as a product of evolution who only needs adjustment to his environment or whether you view man as the Scripture declares him to be (a fallen son of Adam, de praved, lost and in need first of re demption and then to be taught to bear the yoke of our Lord Jesus Christ) , your view will make a difference in how you teach children as well as what you teach children. n it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." I Cor. I : 21. Preaching is the method God has chosen to get the Gospel to men. Ihere has never been anything that could take the place of God' s man preaching God' s Word boldly in the power of the Holy Spirit. There are right ways to do things An Open Letter To Dr. Jack Van Impe Dear Jack : As I have told you, I learned to have love and appreciation for you and Rexella during your two Connecticut crusades. When I presented you on the first night of the Hartford crusade I told t:he congregation that I was happy in the knowledge that you were a Funda mentalist and a Separatist. I express ed my gratitude that I was confident that you would never embarrass us or hurt our ministry. But, Jack, you have embarrassed us , by Dr. Wendell D. Mullen you have hurt us very much. Your Crusade Newsletter has just gone out to all our families. It is full of unfounded accusations and slan der. I have listened to your Cobo Hall sermon. Many of your listeners, even those who applauded, did not know that you were accusing Dr. Bob Jones of namecalling, mudslinging and muckraking. In your Newsletter of November, 1977 , you do not mention Dr. Jones by name, but you were guilty of judgenental slander against him. You make it appear that there is no principle at stake You do not even mention the issue. There is an issuel Dr. Jones be lieves that Dr. John Rice is disobedient to the Word of God in teaching a genera tion of preachers to fellowship with men who openly support the apostasy. Many of us believe that Dr. Jones is correct. Jerry Falwe11 has foHowed Dr. Rice's teachings and example. I heard him on T. V. , and I read his statement in the Baptist Bible Tribune, saying See Page 4
