However, in spite of outward signs of our national success, I believe we are actually on the brink of national destruction. And if we do not awaken now, I fear it will soon be too late to reverse this course. Our Founders and other great statesmen of our nation's early life understood that this nation would not survive on the basis of its material strength. We have never been more prosperous than today. Yet, we have never been so secular and pagan. We are becoming both amoral and immoral. We are making secularism our national religion. The government and the courts have not neutral to religion as the Founders intended openly become hostile to Christianity. And, as we look with sadness at our internal demise, we cannot any longer ignore that external enemies are growing. The Clinton administration has given our military and nuclear secrets to the Chinese who have, foes. We have been victimized part of our leaders . e have come today to a great crisis of character, a crisis that will determine I think that that is the lesson that we the travails of the last several years . the crisis of one man, one president in in turn, given them to other by traitorous behavior on the national moral the future of our liberty. ought to be seeing in We have not been watching moral free-fall. We have rather been watching the collapse of our culture and, the repudiation "Ye shall seek me and find me, when ye of the Judeo-Christian ethic . (Jeremiah 29 : 13) shall search for me with all your heart. " I begin by I wish to propose a solution to America's dilemma. asking a question: What is the greatest document ever written by man? I believe the greatest document written in the history of mankind is the Declaration of Independence, the birth certificate of the United States of The United States Constitution is a magnificent document and no nation in history has such a charter of incorporation But the Constitution is, in reality, an outgrowth of the Declaration of Independence and could never have been written without the courageous and brilliant composition of our national birth certificate . The words are inspiring: "We hold these truths to be self evident: That all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. " What's more, 56 American heroes signed it, many of them later paying with their lives I believe this is the greatest document ever written and fortunes . not for its beauty, even though it is penned in beautiful, prosaic mnglish; not for its simplicity and clarity, although it is anderstood by the smallest child; and not for its judicial logic, though lawyers and courts still examine it thoroughly and often for its legal brilliance. 1
